The Pond Sieve is a simple to
use and effective mechanical pre-filter for pressurised filtration systems and surface
skimmers.
It is essential to use Pond Sieve in front of any type of pressurised
bead filter to help prevent the necessity of excessive backwashing or clogging of these
types of biological filters.
The Pond Sieve is simply connected to either the
bottom drain line or a skimmer line and is set 50mm above the water surface of the
pond.
The Pond Sieve utilises a 300 micron screen and the flow is
regulated by a new floating weir system 'Pondflow' (patent pending no. 102279) which
overcomes the reliability and installation problems often associated with this type of
product in the past.
- Greatly Reduced backwashing/maintenance of
pressurised filters.
- Ideal for mechanical filtering skimmer lines.
- Very simple to install and reliable in operation.
- Unique
'Pondflow' regulation for constant flow
- Maximum flow rate 20,000 litres
per hour.
- Tri-slot 300/500 micron wedge wire screen in 316 stainless
steel
- Increased levels of oxygen
The Pond Sieve is a
bow screen pre-filter which is designed to remove large amounts of mechanical waste from a
pond. This must be set-up gravity fed (bottom drain or mid-feed) but has many benefits
over the original bow screen technology.
This Pond Sieve has variable inlet
height using the unique Pondflow regulation system (patent pending). This allows water
levels within the pond to drop without causing the circualting pump to be starved of
water. The pond sieve will allow a skimmer or a bottom drain to accept vast amounts of
waste without excessive cleaning needed to be carried out.
The water must then
be pumped to either a normal filter above pond level such as the Nexus Eazy or even the
Eazy Pod or to a pressurised filter such as the Ultrabead, Bubblebead or even the
Polygeyser. It is advised that all pressurised filters be pre-filtered using a pond
sieve to reduce excessive backwashing and maintenance. |
